About the Author

Since beginning these series of books I have had very little time to do a lot of beadwork myself. As a result, I have become aquatinted with beader's who have helped a great deal by submitting color slides of their own designs and similar techniques. Now there is a network of beader's in communication with each other, exchanging ideas, beads and designs and where to purchase materials. I invite anyone who does beadwork to join in. Just e-mail me at peggysue@beadstobuckskins.com . IF you wish to submit color photos of beadwork please do so and I will display it on the Web to show off your work and ideas So be proud of your work and send us a photo and we will share with others..

Another feature in this volume shows how the to bead with stone cabochons incorporated with seed beads to make beautiful and unusual pieces of jewelry. The frequently asked for End -of-Trails pattern for the split loom necklace is on page 27 of this volume.

Here you will see one of the latest photos of a pair of Eagle Earrings. Below are even more new photos of a Porcelain Buffalo Skull and a Buffalo Buckle.

I hope you will enjoy this new revised volume as much as I did doing it.

One of the wonderful Aboriginal arts that exists today is the beadwork of the Native North American Indian. Beadwork unlike other textile art has greater capacity for enduring the ages. Leather and sinew don't seem to disintegrate as quickly as the cotton or vegetable threads used in garments or the reeds used in baskets. Glass and stone beads have been excavated that are thousands of years old. Some are still together in the original style of the ornament which tells me that man has always been a little ostentatious when it comes to adorning his person.
