About the Author
Peggy Sue Henry
When I first decided to write the Beads to Buckskins book series in 1986, I was not aware that so many thousands of people would actually be interested in doing the fur leather garments and beadwork. It was a major decision to invest so much money in an almost unknown profession. Not knowing how to present or even price the books or how to go about getting them printed. I have been doing beadwork and costumes in fur and leather designs professionally for most of my life and retired in 1983, closing my stores and craft shows. I happened to mention to my husband that I would like to record the techniques that were passed down to me through my Native American family in a book to prevent them from being lost. He said lets "Lets go for it". So!! that started a whirlwind of research and photographs along with beading and contacting some of my beading friend for help.
It is a pleasure to present to you this series of book through this website
However I have to mention that without GOD none of this would be possible. He has seen me through when I knew I could now carry the load, and complete the impossible goal we had set. Nothing is impossible with HIM.

Just a few lines to enlighten our confused customers. It has been brought to my attention that many people do not realize that my husband "Richard Henry" is the "Jayhawk Rock Shop"
"Beads to Buckskins Publications" and "Jayhawk Rock Shop" are the same company. We have been in business for almost forty years, however the first Beads to Buckskins book was released in 1988. There are twelve books in the series.
Over the years Richard has imported and collected many rare stones from semi-precious to precious. He is one of the pioneers of the rock business in the USA. He is also one of the major wholesale dealers in the USA for unusual Cabochons and Rough Rock and has been for the last twenty five years.
Richard is responsible for all the beautiful cabochons that you view in this sight. I must say "it is wonderful having a husband that can cut and finish a special rock and present it to me within a few hours".
